From Score to Video

‘From score to video’ consists in the metamorphosis of music into video; assembling three different songs into a heterogeneous visual composition.

As a collaborative project, each song was analysed and interpreted, from which we created a new visual score. This was done by converting all instruments, including voice, into a unique form of video display. We regarded voice as a distinguished instrument, thus representing voice with typography and the rest of the instruments with images.

Although the genres of music and design change along the final outcome, a consistent approach was taken whilst conceptualising the visual form. The final aesthetic is determined by a strong character of collage art in brutalist fashion, forming a lyric visual narrative.
